Imitation

The Yamanote Line is extremely crowded on my first day of work. It's the last minute, but there isn't much time before work starts, so I force my way in, and of course within common sense, by pushing the people inside. I put the earphones in my breast pocket and the music drowns out the noise inside the train, then I casually look around. My eye is drawn to the ear of a woman in flashy clothes, probably not an office worker, standing with her back to me. A large, shiny blue earring that looks out of place in a crowded train is dangling from the small dangle.
