A "rikishi" is a sumo wrestler, a competitor in Japan's national sport, sumo. They live and train in stables known as "heya," adhering to strict training and lifestyle rules. Rikishi are ranked in various divisions, with promotions and demotions based on their performance. The highest rank is Yokozuna, requiring exceptional skill and mental strength. They wear a traditional loincloth called "mawashi" and sport a distinctive topknot hairstyle known as "oicho." With a unique physique combining muscle and fat, rikishi are a symbol of sumo culture and deeply connected to Japanese tradition.
